Mammoth Mountain, from $120 per person per night
The Midweek Madness Lodging package includes lodging and all-day lift tickets valued at $55 each. Located in central western California, the Mammoth Mountain resort is a 300-mile drive from Los Angeles and offers 3,500 acres of skiable snow in the eastern Sierra Nevada region. The deal includes a standard room with a queen-size bed (but no kitchenette) at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. The resort runs free shuttle buses every half hour.

When: Jan. 8-31, 2008. For Monday check-ins.

Details: Lodging tax of 13 percent is additional. Must book at least three days in advance. Minimum three-night stay; for a two-night stay, rates start at $125 per person per night. Based on double occupancy; single supplement is $94.

Rental car, four nights in a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at ResortQuest Park Place Condominiums, and a three-day lift ticket, for $488 per person. Shuttles to ski lifts are provided, and the main street of this popular town is within reasonable walking distance. Each unit has a washer/dryer unit and an outdoor hot tub.

An all-day lift ticket is included in the Ski and Stay package at Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, Idaho. You'll enjoy a standard studio lodge room—with a king-size bed, a kitchenette, and a balcony—at Morning Star Lodge, located steps away from the gondolas that usher you to the lifts. The resort features more than 1,600 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain and is located an hour's drive east of Spokane, Wash.

When: Now through the end of the 2008 ski season in mid-April, depending on the weather.

A special at Big Sky Resort in the Rocky Mountains offers a hotel room at the slope-side Huntley Lodge, including breakfast and lift tickets (valued at $75 per person per day). The package price saves about 20 percent off of buying the components separately. Big Sky offers 22 lifts and 3,800 acres of skiable terrain for beginner- through advanced-level skiers. Flights are available to nearby Bozeman, Mont., from Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle.
