It’s a girl for Pete and Ashlee

In just over three months, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson will have a little girl, according to a report in the latest issue of Star magazine. Earlier this month, rumor had it the couple registered for all blue baby items, but a source close to the couple says the family doctor assured them the future is looking pink.

“Ashlee and Pete are on cloud nine,” the insider told the magazine. “The doctor told them they actually conceived the baby just before Valentine’s Day while they were on vacation and has given them an initial due date of Oct. 31.”

Apparently the prospect of sharing an especially happy Halloween with his daughter-to-be thrilled the Fall Out Boy bassist.

“When Pete heard he might have his baby on Halloween, he went nuts,” the source revealed. “For an emo-rocker type like Pete, that would be just too perfect!”

Lindsay and Samantha get family approval
While Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are happy to keep the public guessing about the nature of their relationship, there seems little question about their couple status where Samantha’s family is concerned. In fact, The Sun reports Sam’s music producer brother, Mark, couldn’t be happier for them.

“Mark totally approves,” his girlfriend, Daisy Lowe, told the paper. “Lindsay is really down to earth. Her and Sam make a lovely couple — they seem really happy.”

Lowe claims she and Mark spent time with Sam and LiLo in April and felt the pairing was anything but a made-for-media stunt. “Their relationship is totally genuine,” she said. “And they’re just so sweet together.

Did Orlando and Miranda really break up?
Despite recent reports stating that it’s all over between Orlando Bloom and Victoria Secret’s model Miranda Kerr, Miranda’s family says it’s just not true.

On Wednesday, In Touch Weekly reported the model was not only finished with Orlando, but that she was spotted cuddling up to ex-boyfriend Brandon Davis at New York City’s 1Oak.

A witness told the magazine Miranda and the oil heir were “full on making out” and “didn’t seem to care who saw.” But all of that comes as some surprise to Miranda’s brother Matthew, who was with his sister at the time.

“We were just out with a few other friends from Australia having a good time and we bumped into Brandon while we were at 1Oak,” Matthew told the Sydney Confidential. “They have been friends for a while and we just said hi, chatted for a bit and that was it.”

As for Miranda’s romance with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star, her mother, Therese, informed the paper, “Miranda and Orlando have never been closer and are happier right now more so than ever.”

Dish on the fly
After Maxim.com dubbed Sarah Jessica Parker the “Unsexiest Woman Alive,” the actress told Grazia magazine she found the label “so brutal in a way, so filled with rage and anger.” Wonder what SJP will think of Maxim’s about-face? In the August issue of the men’s mag, Sarah Jessica suddenly falls under the category of Maxim’s “Unexpected Crush.” … Lauren Conrad is angry about reports detailing her alleged early exit from an animal charity event, and she’s reaching out to fans via her MySpace blog to set the record straight. “I have always been a supporter of animal causes,” LC explained. “I own 2 rescue animals and this sounded like a great event.” But as for the accusation that she bailed out on the runway portion of the “Paws for Style” doggy fashion show, Lauren claims that was never part of the bargain. “I agreed to pose for the cover of (Animal Fair), host the event, do press at the event and donate clothing, all of which I did.  I was not aware of any other commitments.”
