Phillies' Loss is World’s Gain

Don’t be surprised to see people wearing erroneous T-shirts calling the Philadelphia Phillies the 2009 World Series Champions on your next trip to Zambia or El Salvador.

The Phillies World Series loss will be the underprivileged’s gain as the World Vision humanitarian group gets ready to distribute the unsalable sportswear from the 2009 World Series.

People in Nicaragua, Romania, El Salvador and Zambia will will be sporting gear that says the Phillies did in fact win the World Series. They will receive caps, jerseys and T-shirts, such as the “Philadelphia Phillies 2009 World Series Champions” shirt featured in the premature Macy's ad the Philadelphia Inquirer ran. Macy's was preparing to sell the T-shirt in the case of a Philly victory.

The Phillies memorabilia, of a non-existent memory, is now being processed in Pittsburgh for distribution to the needy countries.
